Adam Ant discusses Live at the Bloomsbury CD
Adam Ant has been online answering fans’ questions about his latest CD, Live at the Bloomsbury, which was released by Essential at the end of 2008. Antfans have been posting questions to Adam’s official forum, antrap.org, for the last couple of weeks, and Adam spent nearly two hours answering them today. There was good news for Adam’s loyal fans, with Adam revealing that the success of the Bloomsbury gig and CD release had encouraged him to “get back on stage, make new music, and do what I think I do best”.
Asked whether he would consider performing in the US, Adam said that he was open to playing wherever there was demand. He also hinted at the possibility of recording songs by other artists, commenting that the Bloomsbury gig had given him “plenty of food for thought”.
The online chat was also an opportunity for Adam to address fans’ comments on the Bloomsbury concert and subsequent CD release. He rejected rumours that fans had been discouraged from wearing Adam Ant costume to the 2007 gig, and responded to disappointment that some songs had been left off the CD release. The quality of the recording of these tracks just hadn’t been up to scratch. “It’s a question of quality not quantity”, Adam said.
One fan asked why the date of the concert had apparently been incorrectly printed on the CD – to which Adam had an intriguing reply: “What mistake? The date relates to a mystical and rare confluence of planets at the actual moment of conception of the show”.
Despite interest in a DVD of the Bloomsbury concert, Adam confirmed that the CD will be the only release of the intimate concert. The CD is available to order now from Adam’s official site, adam-ant.net, and Amazon.
