Adam Ant: Live at the Bloomsbury
In September 2007 Adam gave a one-off performance at the Bloomsbury Theatre, London. It was his first public performance in several years and was witnessed by a lucky 500 people in the seated-only theatre.
An edited recording of that evening has now been released as Adam Ant: Live at the Bloomsbury.
It includes parts of the readings and songs performed on the night, complete with snatches of unscripted dialogue between Adam and his guitarist for the gig, Dave Pash.
The CD comes packed in a 3-panel fold-out digipack with an 8-page booklet written by Adam and includes unseen photographs and images from his private collection. This CD is not available in shops, only as an online purchase.
In all, this is a very promising release on several counts; Ant shows himself to be an eager and fit performer, Pash a very able guitarist. Add to that the power of fans who made it possible for this album to be released, and a very promising catalogue number (ANTCD 001) – is this the return of the Ant?
